I am often asked whether fee-based planning is part of my business.  The answer is yes, but I have a little straight talk to do on that subject.

Since its inception, many people have come to realize that Annuity Straight Talk is free resource of invaluable worth.  Some individuals know they will purchase annuities from another advisor but appreciate my time and advice to the point that they feel the service and recommendations I offer deserve a fee.  In turn, I appreciate the upfront nature of requests like this.

This website clearly lays out my methodology for anyone who wants to make independent, calculated financial decisions.  My business is selling annuities, and it’s only right to disclose how i think and work up front.

My feeling is that any advisor selling a product should be capable of equally verifiable advice.  If that’s not what you are getting from your advisor, are you placing your assets under the control of the right person?

Sometimes it’s not so cut and dry; that’s where I come in.  If you simply want a second opinion I am happy to work with you on an hourly basis.

This is how I structure my Consulting practice:

I work at an hourly rate of $249 and we will set a maximum number of billable hours before we begin work on your case.  The usual range is two to six hours depending on the complexity of your personal financial picture and the detail of the advice requested.

A case consists of you presenting a problem and me offering a solution.  Once the problem is presented, I will ask follow-up questions that allow me to place my recommendations in the proper context.  Once that problem is resolved and you are satisfied with our communication, the case is over.

Additional planning constitutes a new case and a new negotiated rate for the extended work.

Invoices are sent out on an honor system.  I will email you an invoice and I expect it to be honored and paid promptly.  I am a reasonable person and will not charge for follow-up questions via phone or email.

In certain scenarios, your case might represent a general solution that will work as good content for the website.  If that’s the case, I will offer a 10% discount for individuals who consent to me posting the case study for others to review.  Of course, no personal information will be posted… anonymity is strictly protected!

If you decide to in fact purchase an annuity or other financial product from me as a result of the consulting session, the fee will be waived in its entirety.
